Jerash Exploration
Begin the day with a visit to Jerash, one of the most complete and best-preserved Roman provincial cities in the world. Enter through Hadrian’s Arch and step into a city frozen in time. Walk along the Cardo, the main colonnaded street paved with original Roman stones, and admire monumental structures including the Oval Plaza, the Nymphaeum, the Temple of Artemis, and the South Theatre, where the remarkable Roman acoustics still impress visitors today.

Jerash offers an exceptional glimpse into daily life in the ancient Decapolis, with temples, plazas, fountains, and public buildings remarkably preserved.

Return to Amman and continue with a visit to the Amman Citadel, home to important archaeological remains including the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, a Byzantine church, and the National Archaeological Museum. From the hilltop, enjoy sweeping views and insight into the city’s layered history.

Continue to downtown Amman to explore the iconic Roman Theatre, a vast 2nd-century amphitheatre carved into the hillside and still used for cultural events today. Nearby, visit the Nymphaeum, a Roman-era public fountain that reflects the grandeur of ancient Philadelphia.

Stroll through the lively streets and traditional markets of the old city, ending with street-food tastings such as crispy falafel and sweet kunafeh — capturing the authentic flavors and everyday life of Amman.

In the evening, continue the journey to As-Salt for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast

Today is dedicated to exploring the culturally rich city of As-Salt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its elegant yellow limestone architecture, harmonious urban layout, and long-standing tradition of coexistence between different faiths and communities.

Begin with a stroll through the historic downtown, where narrow stairways, traditional houses, and lively markets reflect the city’s warm and authentic character. Visit key landmarks such as the Abu Jaber House (As-Salt Museum), which beautifully presents the city’s merchant history, hospitality traditions, and cultural heritage.

Along the way, meet friendly locals, browse small artisan shops, and enjoy traditional Salt sweets or Arabic coffee in one of the historic cafés.

Known for its breathtaking landscapes and rich natural heritage, the reserve spans dramatic mountains, deep canyons, and desert plains. It is home to hundreds of plant and animal species, many of them rare or endangered, making it a remarkable destination for nature, adventure, and tranquility.

Shaq Al Reesh Trail
Enjoy a guided hike along the Shaq Al Reesh Trail, one of Dana’s most scenic and adventurous routes. The trail winds through dramatic sandstone formations, narrow rock corridors, and expansive canyon viewpoints, offering a deep immersion into the reserve’s rugged wilderness.

Breakfast
Breakfast at the hotel in Petra.

Petra Classic Visit
Exploration of Petra, Jordan’s most celebrated archaeological treasure and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, begins with a guided walk through the Siq, a 1.2 km natural sandstone gorge once used as the ceremonial entrance to the Nabataean capital. The towering cliffs on either side, marked by ancient water channels and carvings, create a dramatic sense of anticipation.

At the end of the Siq, the path opens suddenly to reveal the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) — Petra’s most iconic façade, exquisitely carved in the 1st century BC. After time for photos and explanations, continue exploring the heart of the ancient city:

Street of Facades — a row of impressive tombs carved directly into the rock walls
The Nabataean Theatre — a massive amphitheater seating up to 7,000 people, carved entirely out of the mountain
The Royal Tombs — including the Urn, Silk, Corinthian, and Palace Tombs overlooking the city center
The Colonnaded Street — Petra’s ancient commercial avenue lined with the remains of shops, temples, and administrative buildings

Dinner with a Local Family

Step beyond the monuments and into the warmth of Jordanian hospitality with an intimate dinner in the home of a local family in Wadi Mousa. Gather around the table to share a traditional meal prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients — from fragrant starters and slow-cooked dishes to homemade bread and sweets.

More than just dinner, this is a cultural exchange where stories are shared, traditions explained, and everyday life around Petra comes to life through genuine conversation. It’s a heartfelt experience that connects you to the people behind the destination — authentic, welcoming, and truly unforgettable.

Day 6Little Petra – Wadi Rum

Breakfast
Breakfast at the hotel in Petra.

Your first stop is Little Petra (Siq al-Barid), a hidden gem located just a few kilometers north of Petra. This smaller, quieter site offers a serene introduction to Nabataean history and architecture. Wander through its narrow passageways and admire the rock-cut facades and the Painted House, an ancient Nabataean home decorated with beautifully preserved frescoes depicting geometric and floral motifs.

This visit provides a glimpse into the artistic and cultural sophistication of the Nabataeans, setting the tone for the day ahead. Continue to Beidha, an important archaeological site revealing one of the earliest known human settlements in the region. Walking among the ruins, you’ll see the remains of circular stone houses and tools that illustrate the ingenuity of the Neolithic communities who lived here thousands of years ago.

Wadi Rum Exploration
Continue south to Wadi Rum, often called the “Valley of the Moon.” This spectacular desert landscape is Jordan’s largest protected desert and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous as the setting for films such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian, and Aladdin.

Upon arrival, enjoy a one-hour desert walk with a local Bedouin guide followed by a three-hour jeep tour through the dramatic landscape. Traveling by 4×4 across red dunes and rocky valleys, you will explore some of Wadi Rum’s most iconic landmarks.

Typical stops include Lawrence’s Spring, associated with T. E. Lawrence, and Khazali Canyon, where ancient inscriptions and petroglyphs are carved into the rock walls. Along the way, climb sweeping sand dunes, walk across natural rock bridges such as Um Frouth and Little Rock Bridge, and visit the remains of Lawrence’s House, all surrounded by the surreal, Mars-like scenery of the desert.

Later in the day, experience the timeless beauty of Wadi Rum during a one-hour camel ride at sunset. Following ancient Bedouin routes, you’ll move gently across sweeping sands and dramatic sandstone formations as the sun dips behind the mountains.

A peaceful and authentic desert moment — perfect for capturing unforgettable views and embracing the silence of Jordan’s most iconic landscape.

Evening
Dinner and overnight at a desert camp in Wadi Rum, where you will enjoy a traditional Bedouin dinner served under the stars. Spend the evening relaxing by the fire or stargazing in the quiet desert before settling into your tent for an unforgettable overnight experience surrounded by the dramatic sandstone landscapes of this protected wilderness.

This peaceful moment offers an unforgettable start to the day. After enjoying the morning views from camp, have breakfast in the desert before checking out.

Drive north toward the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to float in its mineral-rich waters and experience the unique sensation of effortless buoyancy.
